Hotel Tropico Monteverde

The bungalows offer fine views and a spacious layout. The loud wind at night was a bit disruptive. While the restaurant had decent options, the breakfast could use some improvement. A great location for experiencing nature.

The location was stunning, convenient to all major sites and the interior design was nice. What's more, it was next to recommending restaurants and coordinating tours, Nicoya, and the mountains and the pacific ocean coastline.

perfect hotel with friendly service in stunning location not far from the monteverde cloud forest reserve, and the separate wine & grill italian restaurant. sweeping views especially at sunset from our reasonably large room. delicious breakfast, great food choice. simply nothing too much trouble, lovely stay.

The view from the Beautiful Queen Room was amazing, but the loud wind disrupted our sleep at times. Enjoyed hiking tours arranged by Jose.

Everything was beautiful, GOOD service, stunning location just off Monteverde, Roy Porras, Costa Rica for the first time earlier in December and the onsite restaurant. Spotless rooms with a scenic view of ocean and mountain.

It was a perfect stay with exceptional service and breathtaking views. The breakfast was delicious and the team was exceptionally kind.

The restaurant service was neglectful. Upon our arrival, the owner didn't seem interested in engaging with us or addressing our needs. The lack of air conditioning in our Beautiful Queen Room, leaving us tossing and turning and struggling to get a decent night's sleep.

We were amazed by the panoramic views and the cozy, intimate atmosphere. Jose’s personal touch made our stay feel special, particularly when he arranged our early breakfast before our morning excursion.

The amazing panoramic views of the lush mountains extending to the Nicoya Peninsula were lovely .

The lack of on-site staff at night made us feel deserted and slightly uneasy, as we occasionally encountered unfamiliar cars in the parking lot.

The view was nice, however, the restaurant staff couldn't even be bothered to put their phones down upon arrival. Unacceptable after a long drive. No air conditioning meant sweating all night. I expected a welcome gift for such oversight but instead, i got a warm bottle of water. Almost thought about giving a good review, just couldn't.

No local area guide book in the room!!! The restaurant owner should engage more with guests during arrival!!! No air conditioning makes hot periods uncomfortable!!!

The amazing view of lush mountains extending to the Gulf of Nicoya was enchanting. Jose and his team provided really good hospitality, arranged delicious meals and nice tours. I felt at home during my time there.

Limited seating comfort in the room.

Tropico features spacious, beautifully designed bungalows with striking mountain views and large terraces to enjoy. The hospitality provided by Jose was excellent. He readily offered valuable advice on local attractions and ensured our dietary preferences were met during breakfast. The delicious meals at the restaurant, especially the wood-fired pizzas, were a highlight of our stay and very reasonably priced.

No air conditioning in the bungalows can make warmer periods uncomfortable.
